One Fire Smoothie
/I created this smoothie for the One Fire Hot Yoga Festival happening November 14th-18th in Puerto Morelos, Mexico!
Every ingredient has a role in supporting your body's recovery from a hot yoga practice:
- Bananas are a great source of potassium, which helps to regulate fluid balance and control the electrical activity of the heart and other muscles
- Mangoes are high in vitamin C, helping the body form and maintain connective tissue, including bones, blood vessels, and skin
- Turmeric is well-known for its anti-inflammatory benefits (great after a physical practice!)
- Goji berries provide plant-based protein, plus they are rich in antioxidants such as beta carotene, lutein, zeaxanthin, and lycopene (rarely found in berries), and contain 18 amino acids including all 8 essential amino acids
- Lime is also high in vitamin C and is great for the skin
- Cayenne helps to relieve joint and nerve pain, provides detox support and boosts the metabolism
- Raw coconut water is extremely hydrating and contains five key electrolytes: sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus
All of these ingredients combine to make the perfect smoothie for replenishing after a hot yoga class!
Recipe:

» 2 inches fresh turmeric, peeled
